Rules You Will Have To Follow When Publishing Articles

Publishing articles is a good way to make your business known. If you submit these articles on popular article directories and add your business link at the bottom, you could expect a lot of people to visit your website through this. People who read the article and are impressed by it will want to visit your website for more information and thus become your traffic.

But you should know that you have to adhere to some specific rules when publishing articles.

Rule # 1 – Articles must be Informative

This is the most important rule when publishing articles. Your article must give some kind of instruction (example how-to instructions, DIY methods, tips and pointers, top 10 lists, etc.) to the readers. Only such articles can be expected to generate traffic to your website.

Rule # 2 – Use Keywords when Publishing Articles, but wisely

Keywords are the backbone of your articles, because this is what the search engines are going to use to rank your article. You can find popular keywords from tools such as Google Suggest, Overture, Wordtracker, etc. However, you must know that going overboard with these keywords is a thing that you must strictly avoid. If you do so, the search engines are going to count it as keyword spam and penalize your website.

You can use keyword in the heading and the subheadings, which is always a good idea. In the main text, the keyword must occur once near the start and once near the end. There is no need to fill in the main body of the text with keyword. If your keyword occurs once every 100 words, it is just fine for ranking.

Rule # 3 – Present your Article well

Since your main intention is to get your article read by a lot of people, you have to make sure you present it well. Use simple language, use headings and subheadings, use bulleted and numbered lists, etc. Use a conversational language that everyone will like to read.

Rule # 4 – Keep Publishing Articles

This is a general instruction, but you’d do better to remember it. Just one article is going to make no difference to your online prospects. You have to keep this continuous. Submitting at least 3-4 articles per week on at least 5 article directories is something that you should start with, and gradually work your way toward a higher rate of submission.
